Office Overview
The Office of Trademark Licensing and Brand Engagement is responsible for protecting and promoting the use of the University of Cincinnati’s name and logos. As the university has become one of the nation’s leading public research institutions, the university’s name and logos have represented the passion of UC’s alumni, students, faculty, and fans. This position will report to the Associate Vice President of Trademark Licensing and Brand Engagement while also supporting additional staff members.
Job Summary & Duties
This Student Associate will provide general administrative support for the office and assist in fulfilling marketing activities to promote the visibility and sale of UC branded merchandise, and or execution and fulfillment of sponsorship engagements. Students will also engage with professionals from various units throughout the university, as well as the university’s licensing agency, licensees, and retailers. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing general office assistance including answering phone calls, emails, and documentation
- Assisting staff in completing marketing efforts of UC branded merchandise
- Engaging with licensing agency, licensees, retailers, and key stakeholders on campus
- Promoting various engagement events through social media and marketing campaigns
- Completing other various projects, such as event operations and other related duties as assigned
Student employees are scheduled during weekday office hours, as well as during other engagement events and visiting retail locations throughout the academic year.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA during employment
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Enrolled as a full time student at the University of Cincinnati. “Enrollment” shall include:
- The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
- The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
Required Experience
Applicants for this position should possess the following skills and abilities:
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Previous experience with social media engagement and marketing strategies
- Knowledge of Microsoft Software and other web-based platforms
- Attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Preferred programs of study: Business, Communications, Design or other related fields
- Project management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Any experience coordinating social media accounts in a professional setting preferred
- Experience with Adobe and similar software preferred

Hourly Pay Rate: 12.50
