Primary Duties
Join a small but critical team that supports high-impact academic services across campus. This role involves assisting with the Exam Grading and Course Evaluation processes, two essential functions that require a strong eye for detail, consistency in following workflows, and a commitment to accuracy. While many of the tasks are repetitive, they are foundational to ensuring a smooth experience for instructors and students alike. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work both remotely and in person.
Exam Grading Support
- Receive, log, and organize physical exam submissions
- Scan and process exams using specialized scanners and software
- Review scanned results for completeness and accuracy
- Apply naming conventions and securely route results to appropriate recipients
- Troubleshoot scanning issues and flag anomalies
Course Evaluation Support
- Assist in preparing, formatting, and reviewing spreadsheets used to configure course evaluations
- Configure course evaluations using specialized software
- Verify instructor/course data for accuracy and flag inconsistencies
- Run reports or assist with compiling results after evaluations close
Minimum Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to follow detailed procedures consistently
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks that require sustained focus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Reliable, with excellent communication and follow-up skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Excel (filtering, sorting, formatting)
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Service Now
- Previous administrative or clerical experience
Additional Details
Work Environment & Scheduling:
- Some tasks (especially related to exam grading) require in-person shifts on a weekly basis; others may be performed remotely
- Workload varies across the academic term, with peak periods occurring mid-semester and during finals
- Flexible scheduling is available, especially around class commitments
- Expect a mix of independent tasks and collaborative coordination with the team

Career Path
A ULEO Apprentice will be eligible for promotion to ULEO 1 upon attendance and successful completion of a certified Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).

Physical Agility Assessment: An email will be sent to all qualifying applicants, stating the date and time of the Physical Agility Assessment and will include a "Medical Release Certification" and a waiver. Physical Agility Preparatory Sessions will be offered to demonstrate proper techniques and review the assessment process. Physical fitness requirements (see End Requirements) can be found at here. The location of the Physical Agility Assessment will be at the UC Department of Public Safety Police Division located at 51 West Corry Boulevard, Edwards Three, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the assessment tests and bring identification and the medical certification or waiver.
Medical Release Certification: This doctor's certification to perform the Physical Agility Assessment must be completed and signed by the applicant and a personal physician PRIOR to the date of the Physical Assessment; OR a waiver can be signed. One of these forms must be brought to the Physical Agility Assessment and will be collected by assessment staff. Failure to provide one of these documents will mean exclusion from the assessment process and ineligibility for this job.
