Job Overview

The College of Nursing invites applications from new and accomplished researchers for tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. We seek a collaborative, innovative leader with a sustainable program of research and a strong commitment to advancing nursing science and education.

 

This 9‑month faculty appointment includes teaching across two primary academic semesters with protected research time, which may be increased based on external salary support.

This position is based onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio, with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2026. Following hire, candidates will submit their portfolio for review to determine tenure eligibility and appropriate rank. Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program
  • Publish regularly in high-impact, peer‑reviewed journals
  • Submit extramural grant applications (NIH, HRSA, PCORI, foundations, etc.)
  • Teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels based on expertise and program needs
  • Mentor students, postdoctoral fellows, and others appropriate to rank
  • Present research at regional, national and international conferences
  • Provide service to the College, the University, and professional organizations
  • Report to the Associate Dean for Research and PhD Education

Required Education (Required at Time of Appointment)

  • PhD in Nursing or related field

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.  Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.

Preferred Qualifications Considered

  • Eligibility for Ohio RN licensure
  • Minimum of two years of nursing practice experience
