Who are we?

The Learning Commons is the University of Cincinnati’s central academic support center located on Clifton campus. We focus on providing access to academic support to hundreds of students with programming provided by outstanding peer educators. We are seeking motivated students interested in supporting a fast paced and impactful unit that helps students succeed in college here at UC!

Job Summary

The HR Graduate Student Worker (GSW) will collaborate closely with their supervisor to lead the unit’s initiatives and processes related to recruitment, hiring, and onboarding student staff, as well as support s. This hybrid position allows for flexible hours both remote and in the Clifton campus office.

Wage and Duration

$17.00 per hour; average of 10 hours per week; Fall semester with the opportunity to extend to future semesters. 

Requirements

Please note that all candidates for Graduate Student Worker positions must be in good standing with their degree programs (e.g., 3.0 GPA + making adequate progress to degree) and meet the Graduate Student Worker eligibility criteria published by the Graduate School.

 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Critical thinking skills for problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multiple partners
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience in Excel and digital document storage and organization

Previous experience working in the Learning Commons is strongly preferred but not required.
