Job Description
The Learning Commons provides centralized academic support for University of Cincinnati students. We bring together faculty, best-practices in teaching and learning, and hundreds of outstanding peer educators to create flexible academic success programming. We’re seeking motivated candidates who enjoy working in a fast-moving environment to help students achieve their full potential!
This position will support the development and management of First Year Experience Learning Communities. This may include assisting in undergraduate and graduate staff hiring and training, student staff observations, curriculum development, data collection and analysis, and leading the Learning Communities program’s unique student attendance process. The Graduate Assistant may also assist in evaluating and creating new programmatic goals and procedures.

Past experience working in first-year experience, the Learning Commons, or other student support services is not required but is preferred.
Compensation and Logistics
Hours: This is a 10-hour per week appointment.
Duration: The position will run from June 22nd, 2026, to June 18th, 2027, with the option to continue into the subsequent academic year. There may also be an option to begin earlier in the summer if available.
Pay: The position is a $9,000 stipend position with pay that averages to $19.56 per hour. Graduate Assistants are not required to work during university breaks. If needed, Graduate Assistants will be paid separately for time worked during these weeks.

Must be registered for at least twelve graduate credit hours each quarter of the academic year. Must meet eligibility criteria published by graduate programs that make awards and appointments.
