About the School of Information Technology
The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT serves more than 1,300 students with 33 full-time faculty members, 38 full-time staff, and 34 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Lab.
In 2017, the SoIT launched the Early IT as a collaborative ecosystem among educational institutions and industry to significantly advance the readiness of the state’s information technology talent.

Job Overview
The School of Information Technology seeks to hire an Associate Director for Academic Partners. We are looking for a mission driven, team-oriented, ambitious, and experienced leader who will assist with the administration and direction of internal and external academic partners and programs with a specific focus on the Early IT program.
This position is 100% on-site but may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option once training is complete. Hybrid work arrangements are at the discretion of the supervisor and are subject to change in accordance with the School of Information Technology telework policy and university policies.
Please note that this position is not eligible for H-1B or permanent residency sponsorship.
Essential Functions
- Assist with development, implementation, and administration of goals to achieve strategic objectives related to the different components of the Early IT program.
- Assist with the administration of Early IT High School Teachers qualification and professional development program. Serve as lead contact for the program, assisting students and external partners to resolve questions and complex issues.
- Support high school teachers during the qualifications and training programs to ensure their success.
- Support state requirements to further enable high school teachers interested in Early IT or related programs.
- Assist with developing support opportunities for the partner school districts and partner teachers.
- Prepare continuous process improvements as well as need assessments for the programs.
- Write grant proposals as needed for external funding opportunities. Oversee grant implementation, conduct evaluations, and ensure compliance for grant reporting purposes.
- Prepare reports, disseminate/interpret information, provide advice, deliver presentations, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations.
- Assist in collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units to enhance business/community partnerships.

Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirements.
Required Experience
Five (5) years of relevant experience
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Master’s Degree
- Leadership experience in K12, especially in roles related to supporting partnership programs with higher education, especially those similar to the Early IT initiative.
- Experience with State of Ohio high school graduation requirements, college credit plus requirements, and other requirements related to partnership with higher education.
- Experience working with school districts, especially in curriculum development and implementation of new partnerships with higher education.
- Experience working with multiple organizations such as regional consortiums.
- Experience supporting the UC Early IT program.
- Experience working collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
- Experience in academic advising, students’ success, program assessment, or other related area
- Experience supervising team members and evidence of being successful working with teams
- Understanding of the administrative functions, academic programs, and requirements of a university
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Office Applications such as (Exchange, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: $64,600 - $96,900 salary commensurate with experience
