About UC Blue Ash

The Behavioral Science Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for an adjunct instructor part time faculty position as a Education Field Service Coordinator.

 

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. Job Overview

This part time faculty member will facilitate two (2) undergraduate level field experience education courses: 

 

  • EDST 1050 - Early Field Experience School
  • EDST 1055 - Serving Schools and Communities.

 

These courses will be paid at the equivalent of two (2) credit hours per course for a total of four (4) credit hours. 

Essential Functions

As a field experience coordinator, this role will include responsibilities outside the traditional classroom teaching experience.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Contact and build relationships with partner schools and agencies.
  • Develop and maintain a list of partner school and agency contacts.
  • Identify procedures for student involvement in schools and agencies and update them for the current semester.
  • Support students in obtaining FBI/BCI checks and preservice permits
  • Contact UC Clifton public safety office and arrange two dates for background checks to be conducted on UC Blue Ash campus during the second and third week of classes.
  • Update the field experience module with current partner school, school contact information, and sign-up sheet.
  • Communicate with education program director and course instructors of companion introductory courses.
  • Collect information from the sign-up sheet and send to partner school contacts. This should include student names, availability, grade level and content area preferences and contact information. This should occur by week 3 of the semester.
  • Notify instructors when partners have received student information, at which point students can begin making specific arrangements.
  • Collect information from school and agency partners regarding placements and host teacher information.
  • Facilitate and verify arrangements made by students at non-partner schools.
  • Visit partner schools to verify students are completing field hours as arranged to identify and address any issues.
  • Conduct visits to provide oversight to specific students chosen at random.
  • Monitor for student submission of background checks and documentation forms.

Required Education

  • A Master's degree in Education.

Required Experience

  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a Pre-K through 12th grade setting.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Any experience in a college setting will be considered.
