“I work for Hoxworth because I get to save lives every day and to extend the lives of so many more, to give families more time to be together. Before my dad passed, he received blood on multiple occasions, which gave him a second chance and ultimately a little more time with our family to cherish. Blood products give hope—and that can only come from blood donors and the staff who collect and process those donations to send to patients who need blood to survive each and every day.”

- Lori P., Donor Services Assistant Field Manager at Hoxworth Blood Center

“Being part of a team that provides lifesaving blood to those who are critically ill gives me a sense of pride. I am proud to tell people where I work and our commitment to our community. I knew I wanted to help people from a young age. I began this journey as an EMT and Firefighter; while at the fire department, I began working at Hoxworth collecting the blood to save the patients I had been transporting. It became clear that working here was where I needed to be.  I have been personally touched by our mission, as well, as my father's life was saved with platelets and red blood cells collected by Hoxworth as he fought cancer. My time at Hoxworth has been the most rewarding of my life!”

- Kenneth R., Manager of Donor Center Operations at Hoxworth Blood Center
