Job Overview
Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Beyond blood products, we also support cellular therapy and transplant services across the region. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home. HBC is located within the College of Medicine and is the only regional blood center owned and operated by a university in United States.
Hoxworth Blood Center is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE) Lab Associate in the Transplantation Immunology Laboratory. This role will primarily provide support activities for the laboratory, as described below. The Lab Associate will be assigned to work first shift.

Essential Functions
- Supervise, train, assist and/or instruct faculty and students using laboratory facilities.
- Monitor activities within designated laboratories.
- Maintain all laboratory equipment, including ordering of supplies; perform repair work, and schedule professional repair.
- Assist faculty on project feasibility and design.
- Administer safety programs.
- Act as liaison with local industry regarding specifications and availability of new and used laboratory equipment.
- Recommend space and equipment assignments as requested and resolve any conflicts for space and equipment.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
- Associate's Degree.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in an area of technical specialty.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
