We accomplish our mission via the operation of a variety of over-the-air radio broadcast services and on-line Internet streams and on-demand downloads. Local productions such as Cincinnati Edition and Around Cincinnati, as well as concert recordings of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera and May Festival, join national public radio favorites Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, The Diane Rehm Show, Fresh Air, This American Life and A Prairie Home Companion.


Job DescriptionThe goal of our internship program is to give you the opportunity to observe and work in all areas of the WVXU news department. Internships will include a rotation through the various aspects of the news department including observing hosting, reporting, editing, and producing. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  (The internship candidate should have)

  • an interest in news with a thorough knowledge of current events
  • completed broadcast news writing classes (print classes also helpful)
  • a general knowledge of broadcast equipment, (audio editing software, field recorder etc.).


Scheduling is flexible, but all interns must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week for 9-12 weeks.
