Marketing and Communications Intern


The Marketing and Communications Intern will provide support and enhancement for the day-to-day activities of the Marketing and Communications department of the VIA Institute on Character. The internship allows students to work directly with (and gain experience from) industry professionals on the following initiatives

  • Social media content and management
  • Website content management
  • Content creation
  • Digital, email and direct mail marketing
  • Marketing and campaign development
  • Branding
  • Communications campaign development
  • General day-to-day departmental administration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be age 16 or older.
  • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours for undergraduate students and 5 credit hours for graduate students), with the exception of summer quarter, or will be a registered student during the next academic quarter/semester for summer work. Student workers must meet the enrollment requirement for the entire quarter.
  • Recipient of work study award based on financial need and must be admitted into a degree program.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience in graphic design and marketing communications.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills needed to interact between multiple system applications quickly and efficiently.
  • Organized and effective time management skills, with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Strong enthusiasm and self-motivation.


Time Commitment:

  • Summer/Fall 2019 (approx. May 15 – December 15)
  • 10-15 hours a week, weekdays between 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
  • Flexible with school/work schedule
