About the College

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, visiting faculty position in the Biology Department beginning August 15, 2022.  UC Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the largest and most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 4500 students. About the Job

This is a non-tenure track position at the Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor level for the 2022-2023 academic year. Responsibilities include a full-time teaching load (including both lecture and/or laboratory classes) in the Fall and Spring Semesters and departmental service. The primary content area for this position will include a concentration in introductory biology classes for majors, non-majors/general education, and pre-health professional students. Depending on the candidate's expertise, he or she may be asked to teach in more than one of these areas.  

Job Overview

An Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach, conduct research, scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will support the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
  • Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

A Master of Science degree (or equivalent) in Biology or other appropriate academic field with college level teaching experience in Biology or a related field are required for consideration at the Visiting Instructor level.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Candidates with an earned doctorate (or equivalent) in Biology or other appropriate academic field and college level teaching experience will be considered at the Visiting Assistant Professor level.
