The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor- American Sign Language in the Foreign Language Department, beginning August 15, 2019.  Applicants must be excellent communicators and classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student centered environment. 


UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, near Cincinnati, with approximately 5100 students. 


The primary responsibilities for this position include 12 credit hours of American Sign Language and culture instruction in the fall and spring semesters. Must be available to teach classes offered Monday – Friday, daytime and evenings and hold a minimum of four (4) office hours per week.  UC Blue Ash College provides a supportive environment dedicated to student and faculty success.


Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in ASL or Deaf Studies. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition, Education, or a related field, will be considered if they have one of the following: 18 graduate level hours of ASL or Deaf Studies or National Certification from an accredited institution (e.g., ASLTA, RID, CDI).  Near-native proficiency in ASL and excellent interpersonal communication skills in English are required.  The candidate must have recent experience teaching college level ASL courses.
