Job Overview

The School of Education invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Education within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH) at the University of Cincinnati.

Essential Functions

Primary responsibilities will be to teach on-line graduate courses in the Curriculum and Instruction Master’s in Education and STEM Certificate programs; contribute to the development of STEM related pedagogical courses; serve as a liaison between the Curriculum & Instruction program and UC Online to develop a marketing and recruitment plan for the STEM program; and other duties as assigned. The position is expected to begin January, 2021, with the potential for a second year of funding.  

Minimum Requirements

Must have obtained a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the requirements of the position. For positions within Performing and Studio Arts or Nursing, an appropriate Master’s degree may replace the Doctoral requirement.  


Additional Qualifications Considered

All applicants must have a doctoral degree by January 1, 2021 Demonstrated capacity for successful teaching in higher education. Demonstrated capacity for successful scholarship. Demonstrated capacity for contribution to the service expectations.


Scholarly research activity related to integrated STEM education in K-16. Expertise in Special Education inclusion in STEM subjects. Experience teaching online. Demonstrated effectiveness working on collaborative teams. Knowledge, experience, or research that contributes to the university, college, and school mission statements.
