The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a University Service Associate (USA) 1 position for the Student Services One Stop Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5,100 students.

 

The USA 1 will be responsible for counseling students and other constituencies (parents, returning and future students, general public) with simple and complex expertise in the following areas: understanding the collections and student accounts process, cashiering, the procedures for student registration, the entire financial aid process, grant process, loan process, student academic process including one-on-one counseling, and referring students, if necessary, to main campus offices. This position is also responsible for student records and registration including basic data forms, drop/add slips, re-admit applications, grade change and program change forms, late registration, and grade replacement.

 

The USA 1 will employ professional judgment and decision-making skills to meet students' service needs and manage all service-related inquiries using in-depth knowledge of university policies and procedures. Training will be required on a consistent basis. The USA 1 will work with appropriate staff members including the One Stop Director, Advisors, Student Life Office, Academic Affairs and Collections, Student Accounts, Registrar, Financial Aid Offices to develop and implement intervention strategies using professional counseling techniques. The USA 1 will also design, develop, implement and coordinate programs for students and other customers by attending FYE courses to explain the scholarship/ financial aid opportunities and other duties based on departmental need. This position requires a good understanding of all support services offered at UC Blue Ash and the University of Cincinnati and will represent the University in a professional manner. 

 

 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience; OR Associate degree with 5 years experience; OR 7 years experience. Experience must be in counseling and/or as a service provider.

 

Ideal Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have front line customer service experience, be student oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people with a commitment to diversity. The ideal candidate will also have experience in financial aid, registration, and/or student accounts with a strong background in student data systems and college level experience.  We are seeking student-centered, excellence-oriented, customer service-minded individuals to best serve our students' complex needs.
