Technical Facilitator, Substance Use & Community Services

The Addiction Sciences Division within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking multiple individuals to serve as a Technical Facilitator  - Substance Use & Community Services in the HEALing Communities Study (HCS).

 

The Technical Facilitator  - Substance Use & Community Service serves a key role in the HEALing Communities Study (HCS), a large, multi-site clinical trial funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) within the states of Ohio, KY, Mass and NY. The study will use community engaged methods to unite experts and community stakeholders to narrow service gaps with the goal of reducing opioid deaths by 40%. In Ohio, the study will be carried out across nineteen communities. The Technical Facilitator  - Substance Use & Community Service will be based in the community and will report to the Intervention Core Team at the University of Cincinnati. 

 

The Technical Facilitator  - Substance Use & Community Service will provide technical assistance within their community to ensure fidelity to chosen interventions.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Serve as the hands-on technical support person within the community for the chosen Intervention.
  • Acts as a liaison with the coalition members, clinical experts, and all other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assists with training and education on relevant programs and initiatives within the community.
  • Participates in the ongoing evaluation of the relevant community Intervention, reporting to the community leaders and study team on progress, costs, as well as community feedback. 
  • Collaborate with local leaders and study leaders to ensure community voices are at the table.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Minimum Requirements:   Bachelor's Degree Must have experience in the field of addiction or substance use disorders. Relevant experience and training in the field of family services support. Must have a valid driver's license and transportation. Valid licensure or certification where applicable.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage staff and delegate tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/community coalition information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
