Job Overview
The Talent Management team in the University of Cincinnati's Office of Human Resources is seeking an eager entry level candidate who is interested in building a foundation in talent. The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning about recruitment for different positions within several colleges and non academic units across the university.
Reporting to the Senior Recruiter & Team Lead, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will perform a variety of transactional tasks to support Talent Management related to troubleshooting, administration, coordination, and communication to ensure compliance, effectiveness and efficiency. This includes being the first point of contact for applicants, hiring coordinators, hiring managers, and other partners across the university. This person will also oversee TA team email inboxes and maintain team voicemail responses. This role will be heavily system oriented within SuccessFactors and Microsoft Office.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will assist the Senior Recruiter with conducting phone screens and reference checks, scheduling interviews, and assisting with candidate sourcing; as well as drafting email quick-parts and other miscellaneous team materials. The Specialist will join the Senior Recruiter in meetings related to the hiring process both on Microsoft Teams and in person, and will be responsible for attending multiple career fairs throughout the year.
Previous experience in recruiting is not required - but an interest in advancing to a recruiter level role is ideal.
This is a hybrid role with in-office requirements on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work from home Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Specific days are subject to change.
Essential Functions
- Manage and coordinate TA email boxes. Respond to inquiries as appropriate.
- Provide troubleshooting and customer service to internal and external users of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Maintain relationship with posting vendors providing URL tracking and posting updates.
- Work closely with HR Compensation team to confirm job profile and compensation data as part of the job posting process.
- Assist recruiters with job posting and candidate progression through the ATS along with other transactional recruitment related duties. Act as backup for background check adjudication.
- Partner with HR decentral units on recruitment needs in support of Recruiter.
- Create routine reports as requested.
- Work on special projects and serve on committees as needed. May coordinate job fairs and maintain documentation.

Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree must be in Business, Human Resources or related office-focused field.
- Four (4) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements.
Required Experience
- Basic computer and software knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) experience.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and community members.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience with SuccessFactors or other ATS.
