The office of Graduate Education is seeking student worker to perform the duties of an entry level programmer.  Knowledge of .NET programming is required and any design skills are a plus. The ideal candidate will be experienced using/developing Windows, MS SQL & web-based applications.  In addition, and under direct supervision, will provide occasional general office support involving routine clerical duties requiring limited knowledge of systems or procedures.  

 

 

OBJECTIVES:   Design, implement, test, debug, document, and support software components and applications for use within our departmental websites.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Write, debug, test, and maintain web applications
  • Operate, test, and troubleshoot applications
  • Manage enhancements and bug reports in tracking systems
  • With general guidance, learn standards and levels of expectations for routine office work.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the following web specifications: .NET, ASP, CSS, HTML, Servlet / JSP, SQL
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following programs are considered a plus:  Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Excel
  • Excellent communication, personal, and organizational skills
  • Strong skills in web usability and application design

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 16 years of age.
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), with the exception of summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
