About the Position
The Office of Innovative Technology and Learning Design (OITLD) within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH) seeks a part-time student worker to assist the Learning Design team. Learning Design assists staff and faculty with online and face-to-face course design, multimedia projects, and technical support. Candidates must be self-starters capable of working with limited supervision, but also have the ability to collaborate on team projects. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, maturity, reliability, and professionalism. Also, candidates should be able to carry 25 pounds of equipment for multimedia projects and video shoots.
Primary Duties
The Student Associate position provides part-time employment opportunities within University of Cincinnati departments. This role offers students the chance to gain valuable work experience while supporting the operations and services of the university. Duties may include:
- Building and updating courses in Blackboard and Canvas
- Providing quality assurance reviews of courses and interactive media presentations
- Researching, writing, editing, and producing technical how-to guides
- Assisting with on-site video shoots
- Editing video footage
- Creating video tutorials
- Assisting with web conferences
- Supporting CECH faculty and staff during OITLD training sessions
- Providing Blackboard and Canvas support and trouble shooting
- Providing administrative support (creating spreadsheets, tracking course builds, etc.)
- Creating branching scenarios, tutorials, and other interactive media using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
- Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- “Enrollment” shall include:
- The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
- The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
Physical Requirements
As a UC student employee of an Ohio public institution, you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare.
Hourly Pay Rate: $15 per hour
