Job Overview

Under general supervision from a higher level stationary engineer or Utilities management, performs required functions to operate and/or maintain plant equipment and systems (i.e., boilers, turbine generators, chillers and associated auxiliary utility plant systems).

 

Essential Functions

  • Complete operation event logs and record changes in plant operating conditions.
  • Conduct a turnover from shift to shift at the beginning and end of every shift. Turnover must include all
  • pertinent operations and equipment status, condition, and operating condition.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient power plant operation, including compliance with all plant safety policies and
  • procedures.
  • Perform wet chemistry bench testing, equipment chemical addition, and data entry of all testing and chemical
  • results and information as directed.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness at all times.
  • Make rounds of plant reading gauges, adjusting equipment, and observing operation of equipment; starts and
  • stops equipment as needed.
  • Complete all maintenance logs. All maintenance work performed is to be entered in Work Management system,
  • including “as found” and “as left” equipment condition.
  • Communicate all parts, supplies, and inventory needs to Utilities Management.
  • Perform similar or less skilled duties as directed. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid driver's license with an acceptable record

Minimum third-class Ohio Stationary Engineer's license

Required Experience

Six (6) months experience as Stationary Engineer

  • Close Quarters: Employees are frequently required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, sewage and water line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
