Job Overview

This position will serve the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, as an Embedded Counselor and be a member of our energetic, multidisciplinary, culturally-informed collaborative team of mental health professionals at Counseling and Psychological Services (UC-CAPS).

Essential Functions

  • Conduct individual and group counseling and psychotherapy.  
  • Plan and coordinate psychological counseling programs at the University. 
  • Write reports and proposals concerning program operation.  
  • Consult with other professionals and organizational units regarding counseling needs.  
  • Participate in research projects.  
  • Give lectures to community groups.  
  • Plan and implement special training programs.  
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Doctoral Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.).

Required Trainings/Certifications

Licensed Psychologist or licensed eligible in the State of Ohio (must obtain license in the State of Ohio within six (6) months of date of hire).

Required Experience

Three (3) years of clinical counseling experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience working with sexual assault/trauma concerns.
  • Experience providing brief individual therapy to international, historically underrepresented, and/or underserved college populations.
  • Experience providing couples and group counseling.
  • Experience in a college counseling center

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
