The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a Full-Time Research Associate. The Research Associate will manage past and new data from existing large-scale studies including epidemiologic, genetic/molecular and neuroimaging data. Includes statistical analysis for manuscript preparation such as multivariate analysis.

Essential Functions

  • Development and management of clinical epidemiology and clinical trial databases which would include data entry, quality control checks, database management, development of analysis datasets in multiple formats including SAS/SPSS along with back-ups.
  • Database management including creation of data entry screens, dataset development for statistical analyses, quality control, removal of HIPAA identifiers and translating between systems.
  • Data generated from multiple sources will be harmonized into a single master dataset from which analysis datasets will be drawn.
  • Maintenance and management of existing datasets along with incorporation will be included.
  • Biostatistical analyses both for quality control as well as for manuscript/abstract/grant preparation to include but not limited to power/sample size estimation, univariate and multivariate analyses.
  • Organize data search and analysis procedures.
  • Assist in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
  • Assist in the design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
  • Accomplish assigned results for project/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
  • Serve as a seasoned level researcher.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field.

Required Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
  • May require experience with specialized software programs. 

Additional Qualifications Considered
