We are seeking a candidate for a research assistant within a well-funded laboratory at the Center for Lipid and Atherosclerosis Studies (CLAS) at the University of Cincinnati Metabolic Diseases Institute.  The major job responsibilities will be to develop and perform strategies for analyzing brain lipoproteins in cerebral spinal fluid from humans. In addition, the individual will be responsible for purifying apolipoproteins from human plasma by established protocols and also producing recombinant forms of apolipoprotein E using an established bacterial expression system.  The candidate will join a dynamic team that uses diverse approaches to study structure/function relationships and the cell biology of lipoprotein metabolism. It should be noted that this position is funded for 1 year only. The position requires at least a Bachelors degree. . A solid work ethic, a fastidious and careful approach and excellent record keeping skills are also high priorities. Competitive salaries are available based on the experience level. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge. 

 

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
