The Department of Cancer & Biology at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a self-motivated individual to assist the research on selective autophagy in development of postnatal neural stem cell and glial microenvironment in brain metastasis under the direction of Dr. Chenran Wang.

 

Duties

  • Assist in the daily activities of running the laboratory.
  • Ordering and organizing laboratory supplies and records.
  • Assisting with experiments involving basic biochemical, molecular and animals using set protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Opportunity for independent research is also available depending on experience and interest.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • BS or MS degree in Biochemistry, Neurobiology and other Biological Sciences, or in a related field with experience and strong interest in laboratory research.
  • Prior experience with animal studies, immunohistochemistry, or RNA-seq/ChIP-seq analyses is a plus.  
  • Previous experience and knowledge with neural cell culture, protein, DNA and RNA purification, animal surgery and mouse colony management are advantageous

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
