Job Overview

A part time (50%, 20 hours per week) Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Maria Czyzyk-Krzeska, MD PhD in the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The incumbent will assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, makes independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.

Essential Functions

  • Perform experiments and records data according to research protocols.
  • Tissue culture and maxipreps.
  • Participate in the preparation of reagents.
  • Order supplies and lab managing duties.
  • Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
  • Assist in animal husbandry.
  • Perform related duties based on laboratory need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Previous experience in tissue culture and maxipreps and familiarity with UC COM system would be welcome.
