Job Overview
The College of Nursing is seeking to fill a full time Program Manager role in its Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS). The Program Manager plays an essential role in supporting research and scholarship of faculty, students, and staff at the UC College of Nursing. This position will report to the Associate Dean for Research, who provides oversight and leadership for research and scholarship activities for this organizational unit.
Essential Functions
- Developing, coordinating, and managing ORS programs and events including ORS Education Forums, CON Undergraduate Research Scholars, annual orientation for graduate assistant, faculty and student scholarship recognition event, tenure-track faculty candidate campus visits.
- Performing annual evaluation of ORS programming and making recommendations for improvement to ADR.
- Implementing college and university policy and procedures to support ORS programs/events/initiatives and CON faculty, staff, and student research and scholarship activities.
- Maintaining annual budget for ORS programs, initiatives, events, and tenure-track faculty recruitment.
- Approving and monitoring ORS program and event expenditures.
- Preparing ORS budget requests and financial reports.
- Coordinating ORS sponsored student conference travel.
- Processing ORS expense reimbursement via Concur.
- Acting as liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
- Collecting CON faculty, student, and staff scholarship accomplishments (e.g., publications, presentations, grant awards, honors/awards).
- Preparing annual ORS report in collaboration with ADR.
- Providing copy-editing assistance for grants and manuscripts.
- Assisting CON faculty with the development of research database or online survey for research or scholarly project (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrix, Microsoft Forms).
- Providing day-to-day supervision of CON Graduate Assistants (GA).
- Conducting mid- and end-of-semester performance evaluations of CON GAs by seeking input from the GA and the faculty member(s) to who GA is assigned.
Essential Functions (cont'd)
- Conducting mid- and end-of-semester performance evaluations of CON Undergraduate Research Scholar (URS) participants by seeking input from the URS participant and the faculty member to whom the URS participant is assigned.
- Providing administrative support for the CON’s Ohio Board of Nursing Continuing Education Approver Program including fielding inquiries, oversight of continuing education application submission portal, and maintenance of records in collaboration with the CON faculty member who is the official Nurse Approver.
- Monitoring ORS email inbox and forwarding messages as appropriate.
- Providing administrative support to the CON Research and Scholarly Activities council and CON PhD Program by producing meeting minutes and email distribution of documents per request.
- Performing other duties as assigned by ADR.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of relevant experience
