Job Overview

The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Pathobiology & Molecular Medicine Graduate Program, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Program Manager.

Essential Functions

Under general supervision from a designated administrator, manage, design, develop, and modify the Pathobiology Molecular Medicine (PMM) PhD Program:

  • Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs; perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
  • Implement policies and procedures.  
  • Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, and prepare budget requests and financial reports.  
  • Act as a liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
  • Be able to plan, evaluate, and manage elements of research education with limited supervision. 
  • Manage databases and track student progress to degree.
  • Prepare agenda for monthly meetings and take minutes.
  • Coordinate events including weekly student research seminars; scheduling for hybrid delivery, coordinating lunches, taking attendance, and keeping time.
  • Organize and coordinate admissions for PhD and MS including rubrics, interviews, and communication with prospective students.
  • Prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.
  • Provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, time off approval, etc.).

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of related experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years of related experience; -OR- seven (7) years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Experience in managing the day-to-day operations of an educational program with knowledge of UC systems is ideal.
