Under general supervision from a designated administrator, plan, design, evaluate, modify and coordinate programs for the College of Medicine Office of Diverity, Equity and Inclusion.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Programs including:
    • Office management: answering phones, managing calendars, fielding visitors etc. for Office leadership.
    • Developing presentations as requested using power point and other applications.
    • Developing and managing Office calendar of events in a shared database.
    • Coordinating logistics for office events e.g., catering, scheduling, advertisement, etc. 
  • Work collaboratively with Office leadership to:
    • Develop and execute recruitment activities.
    • Develop  and prepare marketing materials.
    • Develop enhancements to existing recruitment programs.
  • Attend conferences and events to promote recruitment and program initiatives.
  • Collaboratively develop mechanisms to collect all data for necessary statistical reporting.
  • Create reports to assist leadership in gauging program effectiveness.
  • Assist with planning and provide support for mentoring and other retention programs/organizations such as SNMA, APAMSA, and LMSA.
  • Collaboratively research alternative funding for minority students/faculty.
  • Assist with the completion/submission of grant proposals for minority-targeted projects.
  • Manage social media accounts daily ,as well as updates to office website.
  • Create and maintain student and program databases.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Some evenings and weekends required.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with one (1) year experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- five (5) years’ experience. Experience must be in program coordination.   

 

Ideal Qualifications: 

Excellent interpersonal, listening and written communication skills. Database management, professionalism, ability to multi-task, efficiency, creativity, organization, prioritization, problem solving, collaboration, program design, and project management.
