About the School of Information of Technology

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2,300 students with 32 full-time faculty members, 30 full-time staff, and 39 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technologies Lab, and the newly formed Information Technology Analytics Center.

About the Job

The School of Information Technology seeks to hire a Program Coordinator for Graduate Programs.

 

The principal workload assignment of this position will be to support the graduate programs including students, staff, and faculty. The SoIT offers on campus and online Master and PhD programs, as well as an Integrated Accelerated Master for undergraduate students.  This position is a member of the SoIT Graduate Office and shares responsibilities with this office.

Job Overview

Under general supervision from the Graduate Director and Associate Director – Graduate Programs, the Program Coordinator will coordinate and support all aspects of the SoIT graduate programs.

 

In relation to the graduate programs, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for advising graduate students, managing program events and initiatives, and managing policies and procedures.  The selected candidate will also assist with the IT Integrated Accelerated Master Program, which is a program designed to allow our undergraduate SoIT students to graduate with an undergraduate degree and master's degree at the same time. The current master's degrees established for the Accelerated program are in Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Health Informatics, and Business Administration.

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative and advising support to graduate students in the areas of registration, course selection, degree planning, and success strategies.
  • Maintain a relevant, proactive communication plan to assist in overall retention and student preparedness/satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance to mitigate student persistence issues and work to continuously improve student retention.
  • Create and maintain student resources
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Assist with the data collection for SoIT Graduate rankings
  • Coordinate and participate in Graduate Program events with other members of the SoIT Graduate Office team.
  • Provide advising support to IT Accelerated students in conjunction with the Assistant Director Academic, Graduate Programs and SoIT partners.
  • This position will require collaborative effort with various personnel across the University, including but not limited to: College advising and recruitment staff, UC Online staff, partner faculty and staff in the accelerated programs, and the UC Graduate office.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • One (1) year of program coordination experience.
