The College of Nursing at University of Cincinnati is currently seeking a Program Coordinator.  Individuals in the position of Program Coordinator will hold the following basic functions and responsibilities:


PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Individuals in the position of Program Coordinator are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of collaboration agreements between preceptors of students enrolled in our graduate programs and the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing.  Active listening, detail orientation, and proactive problem solving are important skills necessary for the position of Program Coordinator.  They should demonstrate good judgment when making decisions.  The Program Coordinator will conduct outreach efforts to organizations in order to obtain required additional details regarding collaboration agreements and organizational information as needed.  They will be responsible for the management of processes associated with badge requests and continuing education certificates.


RECORD KEEPING: The Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining information and documentation as it relates to collaboration agreements between preceptors of students enrolled in our graduate programs and the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing.  Such maintenance includes, but is not limited to, recording receipt of collaboration agreements and entering data from collaboration agreements into tracking systems.  Detail orientation, accuracy, and dependability are essential in this position.


SUPERVISION: The Program Coordinator will supervise the student workers employed to support the projects and initiatives of our Clinical Site Coordinators and the Office of Academic Affairs.  Such supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting goals for performance and deadlines as well as organizing workflow to accomplish projects in a timely manner, monitoring the attendance and productivity of the student workers, and providing coaching and constructive feedback to encourage professional growth.  The Program Coordinator will create and update training materials for student workers to establish an expectation of the role and responsibilities of our student workers and to provide an accurate and consistent training experience for new hires.


OTHER: Assuming other duties as may be assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree with one (1) year of experience; -OR- Associate degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- five (5) years of experience. Experience must be in program coordination.



  1. Communication Skills - Program Coordinators are responsible for communicating with various stakeholders, including preceptors, students, faculty, and staff.  Strong interpersonal communication skills as well as verbal communication skills are required.  Program Coordinators are responsible for representing the College of Nursing and the Office of Academic Affairs on committees and projects.  It is imperative that Program Coordinators possess strong written communication skills.  They will be expected to communicate through letters and e-mails in a professional and articulate manner. 

  2. Computer Literacy - It is imperative that Program Coordinators be computer literate.  Program Coordinators must be proficient in basic software packages (Microsoft:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Program Coordinators must also be able to use multiple databases to manage collaboration agreement information and documentation.  Program Coordinators will also use e-mail (Outlook) to communicate with stakeholders, faculty, and staff.  As technology continues to improve the efficiency of our processes, Program Coordinators must be willing and capable of learning new technology. 

  3. Experience in higher education preferred.

  4. Previous experience in nursing or health related field is preferred.


This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
