Job Overview
The Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for an immediate postdoctoral fellow position in Prof. Eric Nauman's group. This will be an initial one-year appointment with an option to renew for another year contingent upon available funding and annual performance evaluation.
Essential Functions
• Developing testing methods to assess the performance of safety helmets.
• Developing high-fidelity finite element models for helmet impact processes.
• Working with other personnel in the project team.
• Writing technical reports.
• Publishing scholarly works on peer reviewed journals.
• Assisting research proposal development.
Required Education
Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline.
Required Experience
- In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
- May require experience with specialized software programs.
Additional Qualifications Considered
• Experience of helmet design and simulation;
• Strong experiment skills in impact tests;
• Knowledge on traumatic brain injuries due to impact;
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
