The Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician.


1. Provide administrative support to the Central Pharmacist, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving phone calls
  • Attending conference calls/webinars
  • Ordering supplies
  • Organizing study documents


2. Maintenance, monitoring, and storage of study product, including but not limited to:

  • Receive study product from the manufacturer and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare and ship study product to study sites
  • Maintenance of study documents pertaining to study product
  • Communication with study sites as needed


3. Responsible for familiarity with the systems:

  • Utilize the WebDCUTM system to update all elements of study product tracking as needed.
  • Track shipments based on receipt and follow up with study sites delinquent in study shipment receipt.
  • Work with WebDCUTM programing staff to define what is needed in a trial specific study drug tracking module for each network trial.
  • Able to generate reports to drug company or investigator sponsor regarding current and final study product status (used, expired, damaged and available by lot).

Skills and Characteristics Needed:

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to complete necessary/required training for job specific duties.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Must have good time-management skills and be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to recognize the need for change; respond with flexibility to changing program demands; propose solutions; and assist with implementation.
  • Ability to demonstrate dependability, reliability, and excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work with the NCC leadership to accomplish the necessary NCC tasks, in addition to short- and long-term goals.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  One year of health care experience. 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Pharmacy technician certification with one year of health care experience.  Research experience strongly preferred.


This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
