Job Overview

The Part Time Pharmacy Skills Lab Assistant will provide administrative support to J Richard Wuest Family Pharmacy Practice Skills Lab faculty at the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College Of Pharmacy. This state-of-the-art facility, which houses model community and hospital pharmacies, is utilized in the teaching of Doctor of Pharmacy students during the fall and spring academic teaching semesters.  This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Skills Center when in use and for maintaining inventories and the computerized prescription dispensing system.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and troubleshoot medication dispensing system.
  • Schedule preceptors/instructors for learning activities.
  • Orient preceptors/instructors and assist them with grading/completion of assessments.
  • Assist students with logistical & technical questions.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • One (1) year of experience in the outpatient (community) setting as a pharmacy technician.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Current experience in the outpatient (community) setting as a pharmacy technician.
  • Experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
