The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Part-Time Program Coordinator (50% FTE) in our Academic Student Affairs department. UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati.  We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students.

 

This is a part time hourly position for the 2019-2020 academic year. Under supervision of the UC Blue Ash Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, the Coordinator for the UC Blue Ash Academic Support Program provides support for initiatives to enhance retention and graduation outcomes of enrolled students with academic standing challenges – students on academic alert and academic probation. During the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 academic semesters - when classes are in session - the coordinator will work 20 hours per week . This will comprise 15 weeks for each semester for a total of 30 weeks. Additionally - one week of pre-semester preparation and training, and two weeks of post-semester assessment in Spring 2020 are required.
 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide personalized outreach – such as phone calls and emails – to enrolled students with academic standing challenges.
  • Monitor student responses to monthly academic progress surveys and respond in a timely manner.
  • Utilizing survey responses and responses to personalized outreach, refer students to applicable support resources such as academic advising, academic tutoring, instructor office hours and (if applicable) counseling services.
  • Serve as a liaison to these and other pertinent resources.
  • Maintain data on outreach to students, student responses to outreach, survey responses and outcomes, student follow up with referred resources, and student engagement with program-specific resources such as on line student success modules.
  • Assist with assessment of data on student outcomes and with report writing.
  • Participate in meetings pertinent to program planning, program modification and continuous improvement.
  • Research regional and national best practices in for students with academic standing challenges, and make suggestions for application of these practices to UC Blue Ash’s program.
     

 Minimum Qualifications 

  •   Bachelor's degree with one (1) year applicable experience; -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years applicable experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in a psychology, counseling, education, social work, communications or a related field 
  • A minimum of one academic year of experience in a position which serves students from a community college or regional college
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a very diverse student population, and facility
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
