University Health Services within The Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide primary care services to the students of University of Cincinnati.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct patient care services located at Varsity Village and Holmes locations on the campus of University of Cincinnati.
- Obtain a complete health, family psychosocial, obstetric and gynecologic history and record findings in the medical record; perform a complete physical examination; order, perform and interpret laboratory tests.
- Develop and implement plans for: health promotion, counseling, health maintenance, disease prevention and treatment modalities consistent with practice protocols.
- Arrange referrals to other members of the health care team as needed and to community resources as appropriate; Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Share on-call responsibilities including evening, weekend and holiday hours.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve on committees as needed.
Required Education
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited nursing program.
For Physician Assistant:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Active APRN license in the State of Ohio and active board certification as APRN.
For Physician Assistant:
- Active PA license in the State of Ohio and active PA board certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Required Experience
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Three (3) years nursing experience.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
For Physician Assistant:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience is required.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
