Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is a vibrant community of innovators—where expert faculty, passionate students, and pioneering researchers advance medications and improve health outcomes.
The College is seeking a creative and collaborative Marketing and Communications Specialist to shape the College’s brand and communicate its story. This role involves developing and executing marketing strategies that highlight programs, research, and student success through engaging content across social media, websites, print, and other channels.
The position is based in the Winkle College of Pharmacy and collaborates closely with the Pre-Pharmacy marketing team in the College of Allied Health Sciences, contributing to the visibility and growth of both programs.
Essential Functions
- Develop, coordinate, implement and revise marketing plans and promotional materials.
- Develop customer and department profiles; plan ads and media mix.
- Assess, develop and coordinate public relations campaigns.
- Monitor, track and evaluate results; recommend changes.
- Compile, update and report marketing data related to advertising and marketing programs.
- Assist with the design, layout and writing of print materials.
- Prepare/submit for approval budget and quarterly revision.
- Recommend cost containment proposals where applicable.
- Coordinate/evaluate bidding process regarding advertising and promotional materials.
- Monitor progress/quality of bid packages.
- Ensure student artists meet quality and style work standards.
- Determine program schedules, deadlines, etc.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Graphic Arts, Liberal Arts, Marketing, or related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or advertising plans.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Familiarity with UC Branding standards
- Experience in creating digital content, including but not limited to social media, emails, newsletters and websites.

- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
