Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Family & Community Medicine has played a leading role in fellow, resident, and medical student education since 1974 and continues to focus on improving the health of members of our Cincinnati community and beyond, with a special focus on medically underserved patients. With faculty expertise in areas such as primary care research, palliative care, geriatrics, global health and integrative medicine, the department is advancing the college's commitment to cultivating learning environments, fostering research and scholarship, and providing innovative patient care.

 

The Department of Family & Community Medicine is seeking a Lecturer to join the department to teach a Fundamentals of Clinical Trials course. This course will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of how to conduct a clinical research trial for medical product development in an academic and industry setting. Clinical Research Professionals perform a large variety of tasks related to the clinical research enterprise. This course aims to give students the skills to conduct clinical research trials in an ethical, safe, vigilant, and collaborative manner. Lecturers at the University of Cincinnati are expected to teach scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position supports the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.

Required Education

Appropriate academic degree related to department specifications and prior academic experience.

Required Experience

Demonstrated excellence in teaching and practical experience evidenced by a work history in a clinical trials setting.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
