Job Overview
Responsible for the administration of employee leave requests in accordance with University policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable federal and state laws. Serving as a resource, this role provides guidance to employees, managers, and HR professionals while ensuring accurate record-keeping within human resource systems, including case management platforms.
Essential Functions
- Serve as a primary contact for leave-related inquiries, providing guidance on eligibility, available options, and required documentation. Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers.
- Utilize human resource systems, including leave management software, to coordinate correspondence, forms, and documentation while maintaining comprehensive and accurate records.
- Monitor leave cares, track requirements, provide status updates, and escalate concerns as necessary.
- Oversee leave documentation, including approvals and denials, verifying supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Process leaves requests in alignment with established procedures, University policies, collective bargaining agreements, and federal/state laws while adhering to required deadlines.
- Act as a liaison between departments—including labor relations, benefits, accommodations, and environmental health & safety—to coordinate complex leave cases and workplace accommodations.
- Manage the return-to-work process, confirming return dates to facilitate smooth transitions and assisting with accommodation/restriction identification, process and coordination as needed.
- Oversee leave donation processing.
- Provide support to employees on workers’ compensation, advising on procedures, documentation and eligibility. May assist with claim processing and administration, ensuring compliance with concurrent regulations such as FMLA and ADA, and liaising with third-party administrators as necessary.
- Ensure proper pay, benefits continuation, and deductions for employees during leave periods.
- Generate reports on leave trends and patterns, review data and analyze reports for informed decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity in handling sensitive information, ensuring records are accurately stored per retention schedules and compliance standards.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Four (4) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education requirements.

One (1) year of Human Resources experience.
