A full time faculty position as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Lab Director is available in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Candidates should have an interest in academic medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and embryology. The candidate should also have the desire and ability to manage clinical lab staff. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and candidate background.
Essential Functions
• Supervise the lab staff including embryologists, andrologists, and Lab Technicians
• Participate as a functioning embryologist and andrologist on the team
• Responsible for the operations of fertility lab activities at all locations
• Responsible for management and maintenance of all equipment
• Responsible for overseeing ordering of supplies to operate the labs
• Responsible for licensure, compliance review, surveys and all functions to ensure labs are capable of fully functioning within the parameters of accreditation.
• Responsible for the safe and accurate storage of cryopreservation specimens including on site and moving off site to long term storage
• In a learning and training environment, trainees may rotate through clinic and lab including medical students, residents and fellows.
• Ensuring written protocols are in place and routinely evaluate for updates on all lab operations
• Attend meetings and participate in the overall collaboration on patient care with providers and clinical staff
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
PhD in Reproductive Physiology, Physiology with focus of Reproduction and Fertility
Required Trainings/Certifications
- High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Directory (HCLD) Board Certification through ABMM, ABCC, ABB or ABMLI TBA.
- Andrology
