Hoxworth Blood Center is seeking five (5) Inventory Control Specialist II to maintain an extensive inventory of blood and blood components stored at Hoxworth Blood Center for distribution to customers serviced by Hoxworth. This position shall receive telephone orders for components, receive orders via the internet, and select appropriate components for packaging and shipping of the orders. This position will facilitate the transport of or perform the delivery of the components ordered, meet the delivery time frames specified by the customer, ensure the quality control of components transported to hospitals and received from other blood donor centers, provide excellent customer service to customers, and perform component inventory reconciliation and critical storage unit inventory control. Additional duties will include red cell filtration, segmenting, electronic component modification, and labeling.


The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record to perform the delivery of components when needed and be able to work a flexible schedule that will include working rotating weekends and holidays. Desired competencies include effective communication skills, initiative, teamwork, and customer service.  The candidate must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, be computer literate, be able to follow standard operating procedures, and adhere to federal, state, and local government laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalency and at least 18 months of inventory control experience.

Training and Experience: Eligibility test scores and rank will be determined by grading the applicant’s related work history and education.

Shift:   Pay Rate: $15.82
