Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improve the health and clinical care of patients.  The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty physician to join a well-balanced and multispecialty group of providers. 

 

As part of UC Health, our division of Plastic Surgery serves a broad population and is the sole academic health system in the southwestern Ohio region, including patients from northern Kentucky, eastern Indiana, and southern Ohio. UCMC offers Quaternary Care and is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in our region. The successful candidate will participate in resident education, conferences, ambulatory clinics, and in the operating room. 

 

Rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor will be commensurate with candidate experience.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
  • Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Serve on graduate committees, supervise laboratories (where appropriate), independent study activities, and off-campus learning.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active unrestricted Ohio Medical license.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Completion of residency in Plastic Surgery.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Fellowship trained plastic surgeons in the area of hand, burn, microvascular, or craniofacial surgery. 
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.
