Job Overview
Lead and direct activities of members of Software (S/W) Quality Assurance (QA) team as well as planning, design, and execution of systems and applications testing on all software development and maintenance projects in S/W development team. Work collaboratively with all members of development team, support/infrastructure teams, and Business Core Systems (BCS).
Essential Functions
- Lead research, design, integration, and implementation of specialized test technologies to deliver high level of test efficiency and optimized processes for QA/Test activities.
- Maintain hands on engagement in testing current development projects and applications.
- Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports for software application development projects.
- Execute test cases utilizing targeted test data and report results and exceptions (defects).
- Plan, participate and guide execution of User Acceptance Test with business teams.
- Participate in business/functional requirements development, ensure that defined requirements are testable.
- Participate in defining Acceptance criteria for definition of test completeness and test coverage.
- Document and manage defects process during product development phase.
- Lead defect triage meetings and provide defect status reporting.
- Perform root cause analysis for discovered defects and recommend process improvement for prevention of defects.
- Utilize risk-based testing process to assure that high priority business functions tested first.
- Identify and communicate all risks relative to testing for evaluation by project team.
- Define most effective test strategy for each project based on technology, complexity, scope and timeline.
- Ensure compliance of the application with defined standards and guidelines (security, accessibility, etc.).
- Establish and document measurable test objectives and provide test metrics progress reports to project team.
- Manage daily tasks assignments for multiple test resources on the same project.
- Provide QA/test subject matter expertise for all members of Development team. Maintain technology roadmap and resource planning initiatives for QA team.
- Follow established organizational and departmental standards for reporting time tracking, assigned task resolution and other non-project related activities.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
- Associate's Degree
- Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following specialized testing disciplines:
- Functional Test Automation architecture - Expert hands-on knowledge of Test automation tools and scripting/programing. Ability to design and maintain test automation frameworks, build custom libraries and custom objects
- API and webservices testing (service-oriented architecture)
- UI/UX design and Accessibility Compliance
- Expert knowledge of WCAG2.0 AA Compliance Auditing & Testing in enterprise-wide environment
- Information Security test and remediation
- Expert knowledge of Information Security scanning & remediation support in enterprise-wide environment
- CI/CD full cycle test architecture
- Enterprise Data Governance and test data management
- Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of S/W quality assurance testing and the ability to apply this knowledge and skills to a range of professional assignments.
- Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of designing and documenting test strategy, test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria and user stories.
- Experience in creation and maintenance of complex datasets for test execution, understanding of data validation, data security and data governance processes.
- Extended knowledge of Atlassian Jira and related tools integration for project planning and management, tasks and defects management.
