Housekeeping Supervisor, Campus Services
Job Overview
Manage all housekeeping activities, including developing departmental policies and procedures, evaluating existing programs, determining staff needs, interviewing and hiring staff, and directing departmental training programs.
Essential Functions
- Manage all housekeeping activities in designated areas.
- Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in determining staffing needs; adjust schedules to ensure adherence to health, safety and sanitation regulations are met.
- Coordinate housekeeping functions with other departments within the university of and meet routine and specialized housekeeping requirements.
- Monitor inventory control of equipment, furniture and supplies.
- Identify maintenance repair items and coordinates services with work control.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Some positions may require a current valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of experience in housekeeping/custodial operations, procedures and safety practices.
- May also require one (1) year of supervision.
