Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures, and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Family & Community Medicine has played a leading role in fellow, resident, and medical student education since 1974 and continues to focus on improving the health of members of our Cincinnati community and beyond, with a special focus on medically underserved patients. With faculty expertise in areas such as primary care research, palliative care, geriatrics, global health and integrative medicine, the department is advancing the college's commitment to cultivating learning environments, fostering research and scholarship, and providing innovative patient care.

 

The Department of Family and Community Medicine is hiring a full-time Financial Analyst. With guidance from supervisors, this individual will monitor, analyze, and report on financial data.

 

This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following a required training period. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

 

This position is not eligible for H-1B (or J-1) sponsorship.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor and interpret financial data in the development of cost analysis and reports.
  • Prepare financial, data, and statistical analysis reports. 
  • Track financial performance and identify variances from the budgets.  
  • Perform budget analysis and assist in the development of budgetary forecasts.
  • Communicate financial status updates and issues to stakeholders.
  • Calculate monthly compensation for providers in assigned divisions.
  • Assist in the development and input of financial transactions into university systems.
  • Reconcile invoices and payments with budgets and agreements. 
  • Process various transactions in both Concur and Pace systems.
  • Understand university financial policies and be able to apply those policies to financial transactions, and/or provide guidance to those who seek to apply those policies.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related field.

Required Experience

Related finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience in accounting, finance, or analytics is ideal.
  • Ability to craft clear, concise reports, analyses, emails, and presentations that effectively convey financial insights and recommendations. 
  • Skill in articulating complex financial concepts and data in a simple, understandable manner during meetings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks within given deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Proficiency in core Microsoft applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for creating documents, analyzing data with charts and pivot tables, and designing presentations.
