Job Overview

Interview and advise students and parents concerning financial assistance, as well as evaluate and process financial aid applications.

Essential Functions

  • Assist students and parents in completing forms for available financial assistance. Evaluate and process financial aid applications for this population.
  • Monitor the processing of scholarship, grant, loan or work-study aid.
  • Maintain records of scholarship and other types of financial aid granted; prepare designated reports.
  • Meet with various groups both on and off campus to explain financial aid policies and/or to obtain new funds.
  • Provide liaison with outside agencies and donors.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) to six (6) months experience in advising in scholarships and financial aid or related field.
  • Experience as an intern or student employee is acceptable. 

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Previous experience in higher education and/or financial aid.
  • Experience analyzing information and processing paperwork in a regulatory environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and/or Catalyst is preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
