Job Overview

Reporting to the Executive Business Office of the college, the person in this position works with other staff members in the College Business Office performing a variety of financial transactions and providing oversight to support the day to day business operations for assigned departments and units within the college.  In addition, there is coordination, preparation and monitoring of budgets; processing and reviewing purchasing orders and requisitions, p-card purchases, cash deposits, cash transfers, budget transfers and performing various and timely reconciliations.

 

Another important aspect of this job is to prepare, review and approve Personnel Change Requests (PCRs), prepare and enter journal entries, payments, provide financial analysis and reports; annalyzing and tracking various commitment items to/from the college and to/from other departments or units such as operating budget; adjunct budget and various other commitments. This person needs to become a subject matter expert on an assigned group of processes, procedures and functions in the college serving as a resource to department-level business and program coordinator staff to answer questions and resolve problems.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative duties.
  • Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports.
  • May coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit at less than 25% of duties.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related work.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

• Ability to manage shifting priorities.
• Self-motivated, inquisitive team player with skill to generate ideas, make decisions, and work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency using UC Flex systems (SAP), as well as Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
