The University of Cincinnati, Office of Research, is seeking an Executive Director of Cyber Development for its institution-wide Digital Futures initiative.  This position will enhance and support the University’s research activities within the cyber realm.  They will serve as a liaison for the Digital Futures initiative to work with the community, administrators, faculty, staff and other researchers to enhance growth in cyber-related research and programming. This position will report to the Vice President for Research or their designee.

 

Job Duties

  • Engage in external networking to identify new research opportunities, establish partnerships and successful internal collaborations;
  • Develop and execute against a successful business plan to grow the impact of the University of Cincinnati’s cyber-related research;
  • Plan and execute DF cyber-related activities that influence growth impact to society and the economy in Ohio and the region;
  • Manage external communications in the area of cyber-related research;
  • Represent the University at local, state and national meetings as appropriate;
  • Establish and achieve quarterly and annual cyber-related targets;
  • May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.);
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

 

 Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with seven (7) years’ experience; -OR- Associates’ degree with nine (9) years’ experience; -OR- eleven (11) years’ experience.  Degree in business, leadership, engineering, computer science or information systems/technology or related field.  Experience in an academic, government, or private sector leadership and/or administrative position and a minimum of one (1) year supervision.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business, leadership, engineering, computer science or information systems/technology or closely related field with at least 12 years of experience in an academic, government, or private sector leadership and/or administrative position
  • Experience with cross-sector teaming
  • Experience in creating P3 (public-private partnerships) is desired
  • Competitive understanding of cybersecurity and IoT in military and in civilian environments
  • Demonstrated management, leadership, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated history of growing and managing programs, teams, and resources
  • Demonstrated adherence to the core values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence that maintain a positive work environment
