Job Overview

The College of Medicine, Hoxworth Blood Center is recruiting a Donor Communication Lead-9 in the Donor Recruitment Appointment Center. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities. 

The Donor Communication Lead provides a vital role for donor recruitment in support of our Neighborhood Donor Centers (NDCs), mobile blood drives, and escalated donor requests.  This position will recruit and schedule donation appointments and have an active role in educating donors regarding blood donations. 

Candidates should have strong communication, sales, and customer service skills.  Must be familiar with basic computer applications in Microsoft Office and build capability in learning blood industry CRM programs.
 

Essential Functions

  • Communicate directly with donors, following customer service guidelines.
  • Recruit and schedule: platelets, plasma, white cell, Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA), autologous, directed, therapeutic donations.
  • Active team member in training and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document control for department.
  • Initiates and maintains correspondences with donors.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments.
  • Modify records to update appropriate Hoxworth systems.
  • Manage inbound/outbound contacts, including phone, email, postal, text and evolving communication channels.
  • Reschedule donors for future blood donation according to a specific benchmark to be determined by the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required – OR- Associate’s degree with two (2) years of related experience – OR- four (4) years of related experience. 

Shift: First    Starting Pay Rate: $18.83 per hour    Post Probationary Rate: $19.78
