Job Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The department supports clinical care and career development in multiple disciplines, including general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and neuromodulation including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

 

The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting for a Geriatric Psychiatrist at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The final rank and title of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. Those with experience in electroconvulsive therapy are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions

  • A combination of direct patient care in the outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
  • Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Opportunity for leadership roles, including division director and/or geriatric fellowship program director.
  • Opportunities for clinical research at various UC Health facilities, hospitals, and other local health care systems.
  • Additional opportunities for career development include participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent degree.
  • Ohio Medical License.
  • Completion of 4 year Psychiatry residency.
  • Completion of 1 year Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship.
  • Board eligible or board certified in General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.
