About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director of Partnership Services to join the newly created Cincy Sports Partners unit.  The position may be appointed at the Assistant Athletic Director level depending on the finalist qualifications and experience. 

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting revenue generation through management and execution of corporate sponsorships while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations. 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with internal units in the execution of agreements.
  • Manage communication strategies with partners.
  • Execute partner contracts through strategy development on deliverables and action items.
  • Develop presentations for prospective corporate sponsorships.
  • Manage sales inventory.
  • Create draft of sales proposals.
  • Entertain and cultivate professional relationships.
  • Work with a select group of existing sponsors to execute agreements while growing and extending their partnerships. 
  • Prepare end-of-year recap reports for sponsors and corporate partners. 
  • Stay current with relevant market conditions and sports marketing trends. 
  • Coordinate invoicing process and support other budgetary needs.
  • Execute corporate hospitality, tickets, in-game promotions and other activities. 
  • Collaborate with internal units to provide proof of performance for in-venue sponsorship elements. 
  • Assist in fulfilling the terms of sponsor agreements through TV & Radio broadcasts, websites, social media, digital and fixed signage, print media, e-newsletters, fan experiences, event activations, etc.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Five (5) years of relevant experience.
